Static Laser Triangulation is Used as Measurement Method
The laser triangulation determines contact-free the distance of an
object (2) in z-direction to a reference plane. Like a tactile probe,
the laser distance sensor provides a mono-dimensional measured value.
- The laser beam is focussed onto the work piece (2).
- The laser light scatters at the target point.
-
A lens (3), which is placed in a defined angle in relation to the
direction of the laser beam, images the scattered laser light onto
the detector (4).
-
From the position of the light dot on the detector (P1’ or P2’), the
distance in z-direction from the object (P1 or P2) can be calculated.
